Our Tutors

Below are a selection of some of our tutors profiles:

 

Tutor 1 - This tutor is a Stanford graduate with a degree in Classical History.  He loves teaching history, writing, and public speaking and has been involved in tutoring for several years through community outreach programs.  He was a member of the Stanford Wrestling Team during his undergraduate career, and because of this knows how to balance the demands of academics and sports.  He is an experienced educator, serving as a TA in Stanford's History department, and his passion for excellence is contagious.  Currently a Senior Technician in the Archaeology department at Stanford, this tutor is available for evening tutoring.  He also coaches for Central Coast Championship Wrestling Club and for Monta Vista High School Wrestling.

 

Tutor 2 - This tutor graduated from Stanford University with Honors with a degree in Environmental Engineering. Aside from maintaining a rigorous academic course load that includes math, science, and engineering classes, she is also interested in the communication of environmental principles to promote sustainability and governmental responsibility in the face of climate change. She has been tutoring all her life from private tutoring in math and reading to SAT preparation and college essay review. She enjoys untangling tough concepts and exhibits great patience to guarantee mastery of the material. Outside the classroom, she enjoys swing dancing and waltz, and working on art projects including drawing and ceramics.

 

Tutor 3 -  This tutor graduated from Stanford with a degree in Human Biology with a concentration in human physiology and health. Along with a rigorous pre-med coursework, she was also a member of the varsity swim team and competed in the Olympic Trials. She has been tutoring since 2006, and covers all subjects including math, science, history, writing, and public speaking. Her excellent communication skills and patience have made her a successful tutor with students of all ages. She is currently a research assistant at the Stanford Hospital and hopes to go to medical school in the upcoming year. In her free time, she enjoys participating in humanitarian efforts and has been involved in social projects to bring healthcare and education to rural communities in China and Nepal. Additionally, she is fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese, with a working knowledge of Spanish.

 

Tutor 4 - This tutor is a Stanford graduate with a degree in Communication and a Minor in English.  During his academic career, he received help from great tutors and truly believes in the ability they have to help a student.  As an Undergraduate at Stanford, he worked with local outreach programs, tutoring at risk youth in 2nd Grade - High School level courses.  After college, he spent several years tutoring with a boutique tutoring group in the Menlo-Atherton area.  He enjoys working with challenging students - those who don't "get it" yet.  His communication skills make the most difficult of concepts seem simple and his passion for excellence will be passed on to those he works with.
